ACADEMIC STAFF AND RESEARCHERS FROM MOLDOVA STATE UNIVERSITY PARTICIPATING IN THE EVENT DEDICATED TO THE INTERNATIONAL DAY OF WOMEN AND GIRLS IN SCIENCE

On 27 February 2026, academic staff members and researchers from the Institute for Legal, Political and Sociological Research of Moldova State University participated in an event dedicated to the celebration of the International Day of Women and Girls in Science.

The event was organized by the Ministry of Education and Research of the Republic of Moldova, on which occasion the Minister of Education, Mr. Dan Perciun, reiterated the institutional commitment to supporting women in scientific and research activities by promoting gender equality in an open and modern society.

The Minister’s address was followed by a panel discussion entitled ‘Women and Girls in Science: Role, Future, and Solidarity’, which provided an open forum for dialogue on the role of women in contemporary social life, their ability to meet multiple responsibilities, the challenges encountered in their professional paths, as well as perspectives for personal development and career advancement based on meritocracy.

The panel brought together representatives of key institutions in the fields of education and research, including Ms. Adriana Cazacu, State Secretary at the Ministry of Education and Research; Ms. Aurelia Hanganu, Director of the National Agency for Research and Development; Ms. Viorica Țîmbalari, Director General of the National Agency for the Prevention and Combating of Violence against Women and Domestic Violence; Ms. Zinaida Bolea, Director of the Doctoral School ‘Social Sciences’ at the Moldova State University; and Ms. Rodica Siminiuc, Director of the Doctoral School at the Technical University of Moldova.

On behalf of the Scientific Research Laboratory ‘Comparative Public Law and E-Governance’, Dr. habil., Associate Professor Mariana Doga-Mîrzac (Faculty of Economic Sciences, Moldova State University) and Dr. Natalia Creciun (Faculty of Law, Moldova State University) were acknowledged for their relevant contributions to scientific research at national and international levels.
