PARTICIPATION OF RESEARCHERS FROM THE LAW FACULTY OF THE MSU AT THE INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ‘YESTERDAY’S CULTURAL HERITAGE  – IMPLICATIONS FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF TOMORROW’S SOCIETIES’

Between 18–22 September 2025, the XIIth           Edition of the International Scientific Conference ‘Yesterday’s Cultural Heritage – Implications for the Development of Tomorrow’s Societies” took place under the auspices of the European Heritage Days, a joint initiative of the Council of Europe and the European Commission. This year’s theme was: ‘Heritage and Architecture: Windows to the Past, Doors to the Future’.

As part of the conference program, the Law Faculty of Moldova State University hosted a dedicated section entitled ‘Traditions and Evolution in National Legal Science’, focusing on key topics concerning the historical development of law and current trends in the context of justice reform.

The session, moderated by Dr. Habilitated in law Rodica CIOBANU and Dr. Rodica NICHITA, brought together legal scholars, practitioners, academics, and students from Moldova, Romania, and Ukraine.

The presentations covered a wide range of relevant and current topics for the legal community, including: Justice reform between tradition, intellectual heritage, and new European paradigms; Digitalization of legal processes; The impact of migration on social development and the configuration of national legal systems; Public order models and professional cohesion within the justice system; Legal tradition between cultural memory and the construction of social identity; Practical issues regarding the indexation of fixed-amount alimony; The essence of disciplinary liability of magistrates etc.

The conference was organized by the Academy of Sciences of Moldova, in collaboration with: The Metropolitan Center for Scientific Research TABOR (Iași, Romania), The Institute of Ethnology of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (Lviv), The European Institute for Multidisciplinary Research (Buzău, Romania), The Free University of Berlin (Germany),
along with numerous academic and administrative partners from Moldova and Romania.
