CALL FOR CONFERENCE

We are pleased to invite you to participate in the Jean Monnet International Conference entitled “Civic Education, European Identity, Europeanisation: Conceptual Approaches and Practical Significance”, organized within the framework of the project “Civic Education for a Resilient Democracy”, Project 101239922 — CERD Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence.

Format: Hybrid (on-site and online)

The event aims to provide a platform for interdisciplinary reflection and dialogue on the role of civic education, European identity, and the process of Europeanisation in strengthening democratic values, the rule of law, and civic participation.

Conference objectives:

  • Assessing the potential of civil society as a facilitator in strengthening democratic institutions in the Republic of Moldova and increasing societal resilience;
  • Analysing current trends in the development and enlargement of the European Union;
  • Exchanging good practices in public administration;
  • Identifying priorities of civic education in contemporary democratic states;
  • Addressing the multidimensional nature of Europeanisation as an important instrument of European integration for candidate states;
  • Building an inclusive democratic society based on participatory democracy.

Through interdisciplinary perspectives and the exchange of best practices, the Jean Monnet International Conference seeks to create an academic and applied dialogue framework aimed at clarifying both the conceptual dimensions and the practical relevance of civic education and the European project in contemporary societies.

The Conference invites: university and pre-university teaching staff from the Republic of Moldova, Romania, and Ukraine; PhD candidates, master’s students, early-career researchers, public officials, NGO leaders, and other interested participants.
