STUDENTS OF THE LAW FACULTY OF THE MSU ALIGNED WITH THE NORMATIVE IMPERATIVES AND STRATEGIC OPPORTUNITIES OF EU ACCESSION IN THE FIELD OF ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION
The Law Faculty of the Moldova State University reconfirms its central role in training future legal professionals, through the active participation of its students in the fifth edition of the Academic School of Environmental Education for Young Lawyers, held on April 29–30, 2026. The event was organized by the public association EcoContact, in partnership with the Ministry of Environment and the Law Faculty of the Moldova State University, within the project ‘A Green Justice for a Protected Environment and Sustainable Communities in the Republic of Moldova’, implemented with the support of Sweden.
A significant number of students of the Law Faculty of the Moldova State University stood out as direct beneficiaries of the training program, strengthening their legal skills in the field of environmental protection – a field in full expansion in the context of the process of accession of the Republic of Moldova to the European Union. Together with colleagues from other higher education institutions, they actively participated in theoretical sessions and practical exercises, demonstrating interest and ability to apply knowledge in concrete situations.
A defining element of this year’s edition was the involvement of professors from the Law Faculty of the Moldova State University as experts and trainers. Through their academic and practical expertise, they contributed to the delivery of the 12 thematic modules, offering participants an integrated perspective on European environmental law, implementation mechanisms and current legal challenges. The presence of the teaching staff ensured not only a high level of academic content, but also a direct connection between the university educational process and the practical realities of the field.
The active participation of students and the involvement of professors as experts reflect the commitment of the Law Faculty of the Moldova State University to promote an applied legal education, oriented towards the needs of society and aligned with European standards. Such initiatives contribute to the formation of a new generation of lawyers capable of supporting the process of legislative harmonization and actively participating in the consolidation of the rule of law and environmental protection in the Republic of Moldova.
