9th Security Forum:

„NATO and EU Cooperation – A Key for a Resilient Future”

The 9th Security Forum, held in Zagreb, Croatia, focused on the vital cooperation between NATO and the European Union to build a more resilient future. The forum brought together experts from various countries—including Croatia, Lithuania, Romania, Norway, Ukraine, Greece, France, Italy, Denmark, Poland, Montenegro, Sweden, and Moldova—as well as representatives from diplomatic missions, international organizations, academia, and the private sector.

Key discussions centered on hybrid security threats and the need to enhance resilience in response to current challenges. Several speakers highlighted the issues faced by countries in the process of EU accession, with specific focus on the Republic of Moldova. They emphasized the growing threat of hybrid warfare, such as disinformation and destabilization, and stressed the importance of international cooperation and expert involvement to strengthen national security.

Forum panels explored research models that could be applied to enhance security, stressing the importance of raising awareness about security threats at both national and regional levels. The discussions underscored the crucial role of academia in shaping security strategies and addressing current realities and challenges.

A notable addition to this year’s forum was the participation of young researchers, encouraging greater involvement in the field of security studies. These panels highlighted the importance of intergenerational cooperation in evaluating and analyzing security challenges and fostering active participation in security research.

The participants from the Moldova State University expressed their gratitude to the Hybrid Warfare Research Institute and the Defence and Security University, led by Professor Gordan Akrap, for the opportunity to exchange research experiences in the fields of security, cooperation, and resilience.
